ROSS SALVOSA, Pianist

    ROSS SALVOSA is a descendant of the unbroken lineage of pianists and pedagogues tracing back from the virtuoso pianist-composer Franz Liszt. He has been performing in concert venues around the world performing as an orchestra soloist, solo recitalist, collaborative artist and chamber musician. He has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras and was a prize winner of national and international piano competitions.
     Ross first captured the public's attention at the age of ten after winning the Philippine National Music Competition for Young Artists under the tutelage of renowned Filipino pedagogues Prof. Mauricia Borromeo, Prof. Reynaldo Reyes and his aunt Prof. Ruby Salvosa. A very versatile artist with a wide range of solo, concerto and chamber music repertoire, Ross is also a pioneer of contemporary music frequently performing at the New Music Festival at the Conservatory of Music at Lynn University both solo and chamber contemporary works. As a lecturer, he has presented seminars for the Music Teachers National Assoc. in Florida and has given master classes and lecture seminars around the world. He is also a pioneer of early childhood piano technique, giving lectures and seminars to pedagogues world wide.
     As a very sought after pedagogue, Ross continues the legacies of the great Filipino pianists Reynaldo Reyes and Emilio Del Rosario. His students have won both national and international piano competitions.
     Ross is currently part of the piano faculty at the Mozart School of Music in both the Vancouver and Burnaby campuses. He has also served as faculty member of the Music Preparatory Department at the Conservatory of Music at Lynn University in Florida. He also had masterclasses with renowned pianists Hiromi Okada, Leon Fleisher, Solomon Mikowsky, John Perry, Antoinette Perry, Sergei Babayan, Mischa Dichter, Dickran Atamian, Pascal Nemerowski, Lydia Boyadjieva, and Armand Abols.
     Ross is currently a Doctorate in Musical Arts degree candidate at the University of British Columbia under a full scholarship under the guidance of legendary pianists Dr. Sara Buechner and Dr. Corey Hamm. He received his Bachelor and Master of Music Degree also on a full scholarship graduating magna cum laude at the Conservatory of Music at Lynn University (formerly the Harid Conservatory of Music) under the tutelage of Dr. Roberta Rust and Philip Evans.
